I was sitting here catching up on blogs when I realized what today was! One year ago today I crawled out of bed @ some unGodly hour to take a HPT & saw that glorious positive. I was SO scared & excited. I walked in to my sleeping husband & whispered, "we are pregnant....again". And here I am today writing my 100th post on the anniversary of that positive test & my precious miracle sleeping inside! Who'd have known! Through it all, every single day, you ladies have been there to support & celebrate with me! I am forever grateful.
I also realized it's been quite some time since I've posted last. Seems like I wake up with such ambition to get things done & before ya know it the day is over! Addy baby is doing well. We have gotten over some hurdles recently & things are looking up. She got this terrible cold @ 10 weeks & for 2 weeks after that was a screaming mess! She wouldn't eat or sleep & her poops were a terrible mucousy green (which also gave her a bad painful diaper rash). Finally, after breaking down I called my Dr. (on a Sunday!!) & he said that he thought it was reflux. I was sure he was wrong, but after getting her on an antacid, she was her old self again! Here all along I thought it was all from her allergies. It was great! We lost her sleeping through the night during that phase but have slowly gotten it back. She fusses here & there but mainly because she is way too attached to her pacifier (my fault). So once I go in & give it to her, she falls right back down (Thank GOD). We have been struggling with her naps times only being 45 minutes which is SO not cool!! I am trying to extend her schedule a little it seems to be helping. I held off on this for a bit as she was no longer sleeping through & wasn't feeling well.
We went & got some of her shots (doing delayed vacc) & she weighed an even 13lbs! She has a personality like no other! She eats in record time (8-15 min), & when she is done she makes this angry red faced grunt! This is her frustrated noise. Talk about a Diva! Mommy & Daddy are by no means quiet & it appears she has picked up this trait as well! My little nugget is never quiet when she is awake! All she does is talk talk talk...lol....and I LOVE IT! Our most recent and fabulous milestone is hearing her giggle! What a wonderful sound! She is adamantly trying to roll over from her back to her front & is getting sooooo close. She is not a huge fan of tummy time (because of the reflux I realize now!) so it will take some time before she even considers rolling tummy to back.
I am also looking for some advice. Addy is a swaddled baby. She would not (and will not) fall asleep without the stinkin' thing. If by chance she does go down she wakes up screaming frantically in 5 minutes like she frightened herself. However, if she does wake up she does all she can to get out of it & once she succeeds, starts crying again!! Ugh! I hate the thing. Anyone have any advice on how to go about not using it??? Secondly, I am in desperate need of a video monitor! I know many of you use them & was hoping you can tell me what kind/brand & how you like it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am now going to go enjoy spending this glorious fall day with my little monster and hubby (who actually has the next 3 days off!!!).
Oh & yay Wendy!!!!! Elliott is GORGEOUS!!!

I love the happy anniversaries like that :)
We just use a regular sound monitor.
Sorry she was sick :( That's always so tough when they're little and can't tell you what's wrong

Happy 100th post! And happy one-year anniversary of your positive test! So much to celebrate!
We swaddled Ella for the first three weeks or so (just with a regular--albeit larger--receiving blanket). But she likes to sleep with her arms above her head, so she would always bust her arms out right away...and eventually kick her legs out as well. We had a cold spell come through Arizona (okay, cold by Arizona standards), so I put her in a sleep sack, just to try it out...and she loved it! I don't know if that would work for Addy...but it worked for us.
And I went back and read your Love/Hate Relationship post...glad I'm not the only one who feels this way!

Dawn,
Congrats on the milestones in your life...beautiful!
Sounds like Addy baby is thriving and I'm so happy she is feeling better, as reflux and diaper rash are no fun. As for the swadeling, I have no clue, but thanks for tipping me off that swaddled babies can have some issues in adjusting.
I'm loving that you are enjoying this sweet miracle baby...makes my heart smile :)
Much Love

Sam had to be swaddled, too! We used a Miracle Blanket for him (and Emma) and it worked pretty well to keep him snug. We probably swaddled him for at least 4 months...and then slowly unwrapped him a little each night, like all swaddled with one arm out...and then the next night all swaddled with two arms out, etc. But the would startle himself all the time and wake up!
We used a Summer video monitor that we got at Target. It worked GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!....Until he dropped it in the potty. :)
Enjoy those giggles!!! :)

Giggles are the BEST!!
Summer video monitor for sure! I have a few friends who recommended it to us and we LOVE ours! I'm not sure what I would do if I couldn't see her on there. When we first moved her to her crib from our room, I'll admit I was a monitor stalker. But now I am much better and just look when I hear a noise.
We stopped swaddling (we used the miracle blanket) once Kailyn was about 7 weeks I think. Mainly because she was getting to long for the blanket and also she was acting like she no longer wanted to be swaddled. This is when we started letting her sleep on her belly. We had been letting her nap like that with watchful eyes. I know this is a very controversial subject, but after watching her nap this way a few weeks we felt ok doing this. Plus she absolutely HATED sleeping on her back. Would scream every time. She slept in our room until 4 months and I could hear her breathing. Not to mention she had VERY strong head control by then. Her belly is still the only way she will sleep. Lay her on her back, she rolls right to her belly. At this age they say it doesn't matter anymore. If they roll to their belly just to leave them.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

E is on Zantac, and is also a much happier baby now. Amazing how much a little reflux can affect them!
Congrats on your 100th post. Nice way to celebrate. :)
WRT the swaddle, my son also uses a sleep sack as does my daughter, and they both love it. It gives just the right amount of "enclosure" and it also keeps them warm (because they can't "kick off" the covers). D loves it so much that he STILL sleeps in one, and he's almost 3 1/2!!

Just getting caught up.. Nice to see the cute pics and hear that all is well!
We love the Summer video monitor. It's nice to be able to peek at the bambino.
We were swaddling until we had to go cold turkey at 3 mos. when our big boy houdini could suddenly break out of any swaddle- including the miracle blanket. So we were forced to go cold turkey one night and it was a rough few nights of poor sleep then he adjusted. My plan was to do a gradual approach, which is what I've read about and heard about... start unswaddling one arm for several days, then the other.. etc.
