Well my precious baby girl turned 10 months yesterday & I still wake up more mornings than most thanking God for her. Having finally gotten to a point where I can trust myself to be the mommy God intended me to be, I am the happiest I've ever been in my entire life. Mother's Day was a very difficult day for me as I shed more tears than I thought I would. I wanted to post on here but felt almost like a hypocrite as I have my miracle babe and who was I to feel sad. But than I saw from many of your posts, that I was not alone. Once again you women understood me when no one else could. That's why I love this community. Naturally I shed tears of joy as this is my first official Mother's Day with an earthly child, but mostly my tears were for those women who have yet to realize their dreams come true. Those emotions came back to me as if they were yesterday & I struggled throughout the day thinking of my angel babes & how I still miss them so very much. To those women still struggling you are constantly in my thoughts & prayers.
Over the past couple of months, Adelyn has truly begun to blossom! She began crawling about a month or so ago & can I just say mobility is a whole new ball game!!! She was on her hands & knees for almost 6 weeks before finally going & once she did, she took off! She sits up, stands & is trying to walk along furniture now too. Sadly, we have to bring her in to the Dr. to see if we need to see a specialist about her feet as she is standing on the insides of them & it is quite bad. We go tomorrow so please keep her in your prayers that it is not a big issue. She loves to pull everything off the table & out of her toy box so it has been a lot of me chasing her around saying "NO!". Half of the time she listens the other half she just laughs at me...grr. Believe it or not we have yet to see any teeth & this whole wondering if she is teething thing is driving me nuts! Everyone keeps telling me it is better for them when they get teeth later but I think that is like telling a bride it is good luck to have rain on their wedding day. Just something to say so they don't feel so bad..lol.
We have recently also gotten her snaps on her diapers as she has learned what fun it is to pull the velcro off & they are working out a lot better! At first I was not a fan as the velcro was so convenient for fit, but now I've been converted. Snaps is the way to go! We are on 2 naps & Adelyn is still an all over the place sleeper. After dropping her 3rd nap (lovely!), she finally started sleeping in again & even waking up around 7:30am!! However, for some reason the little terror has decided after doing this for 2 months that she was going to start waking up @ exactly 6am again! Punk! I really think she is just in tune with when the sun rises (no matter how cavelike I make her room) & her morning wake time will change with it. Unfortunate for me but certainly not the end of the world. I do wonder when you other mom's went to 1 nap? How old were your LO's?
Our biggest issue currently is eating. I have many friends/family who had babies within weeks of Adelyn & they all breastfeed. I have watched as their babes get SUPER excited when it comes time to eat. Adelyn has never been like this & I never thought anything of it. When it was time to eat she would eat. She just didn't share the excitement that the other babies did. We introduced solids via BLW @ 6 months & went to 3X a day at about 7.5 months & she is a champ. She has her bouts of eating more some days & barely eating any the next & I know that is the norm. As we did more solids she became less & less interested in BFing & I've really had to extend the time in between to get her to eat at all. Due to her milk protein allergy, I had decided that I was going to wean @ 12 months but really take my time doing it. Sadly, Adelyn has decided she is going to wean faster than mommy would like. I have done everything to try & get her to eat more, but she mainly just takes the boob in the morning & before bed. She will maybe drink a bit from one side during the day. I currently feed her around 7am, 11am (this one she barely eats at all), 3:30-4pm & 7:30pm. My problem is that I have no desire to introduce formula as it would need to be that expensive dairy free stuff & it is too early to introduce milk (almond in this case). So what the heck am I supposed to do??! Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Well after only sleeping 35 min my lil' Monster is awake & partying in her crib. This is what I get for letting her take a long nap this morning! Grr.
I leave you with this!

If she's nursing 3-4x per day, and can continue this pattern for another 2 months, you should be fine - that sounds like a pretty average amount to be nursing during the day at 10 months. Otherwise, I would call your ped and ask about introducing the almond milk early. It sounds like she's doing well, so I wouldn't worry about it too much either way. She's a healthy girl and you're doing great, mama!

Before you know it her 1st B-day will have come and gone like our little girl. :*)
As far as the feeding, I had stopped BFing when Kailyn turned 10 months. As her 10 month came and went she also started drinking less and less. By 11 months she was really only drinking three bottles a day. And shortly after that only one in the AM and PM. We started slowly adding whole milk to her formula once she was 11 months. And of course now that she is one we only do whole milk for her night bottle. But since you are still BFing I think you will probably just continue with that. Unless you are wanting her to be weaned by One?
Good luck and keep us posted on your little princess!
*oh and by 10 months she already had i think 8 teeth and was eating nothing but solids, so i think that is also why she really didnt want milk as much*
