So my little pumpkin started crawling when she was almost 9 months & pulling herself  up shortly thereafter.  At first she was only up for short periods of time so I didn't really focus too much on how she was standing.  Over time she was standing for longer periods of time but seemed to get sad or frustrated.  Around this time I started to realize that she was standing quite a bit on the insides of her feet.  She always had socks &/or pants on so I didn't really see how bad it really was.  One day she was checking out our ferret (she LOVES her) w/out socks on when I was shocked by just how bad it looked!  I tried not to stress too much & waited until our 10 month appt.  I knew Adelyn would not perform so I took pics of her before we went.  This is one of the shots that best show it.

This is a view from the back.
The doctor was great & was concerned but not so much that I would freak out even more.  She suggested we take her to PT in order to see if there is anything to be done to help correct the position of her feet.  Our first appt is tomorrow @ 10am.  A lot of older mom's keep telling me about these horrible braces that they used to use on babies & I am praying that they don't do those types of things anymore.  Adelyn is a VERY light sleeper & tosses & turns like mad.  Any type of brace will basically just flush sleep down the toilet.

What makes me the most sad is how it is affecting Adelyn.  She wants so bad to stand & tries to walk along furniture but instead ends up getting sad & I'm not sure if in pain or just frustrated.  Either way it is hindering the pace at which she is developing & as her mommy I never want her to have to suffer.

Please keep us in mind tomorrow & pray that we are able to just do some exercises that can help her.

Oh no! I'm just catching up on blogs but just saw this and I hope that Addy doesn't have to wear any restricting braces that would affect her sleep and otherwise! Good thing is that you are with the right people to help correct this...thinking about you tomorrow!

Thinking of you and sending up prayers. Braces aren't ideal, but they can be effective (this coming from someone who wore a backbrace for three very long adolescent years...while also having braces on my teeth...yes, I was that akward kid in junior high). Hang in there! You're a wonderful mommy!

I hope everything goes well. One of my kiddos had a problem like this, and it wasn't that big of a deal. He had to wear shoes with inserts in them whenever he was awake. Now he is eight and everything is perfect!!

I hope everything goes well tomorrow. I believe I have heard they now have special shoes and such, but I think most of the time it is only for during the day. Keep us posted.
