Over the past couple days baby girls movements have felt a bit different.  On Wed night I couldn't sleep for anything and then yesterday I was so absolutely uncomfortable.  No matter how I tried to sit, I was in pain.  Every time she moved (which was quite a bit) I would getting a sharp shooting pain kinda like the round ligament pains I dealt with in the first tri.  On top of that, I was also getting quite a few pretty intense contractions.  Luckily after the total lack of sleep I got the night before, I slept relatively well last night (minus the increase in trips to the bathroom).

This morning my mom came over to go to the beach with me and the first thing she said was that I was carrying a lot lower then when she saw me on Sat.  DUH!!!!  Obviously baby girl had dropped and that explains all the new feelings I've been having.  I think I was expecting it to be a bit more dramatic and obvious, so I never really thought it through.  I am 38 weeks today so this makes perfect sense timing wise.

Then all of the sudden I had a HOLY CRAP moment and realized I AM 38 WEEKS!!!  My due date is only 2 weeks away!!!!  Minus this terrible heat we've been dealing with on Long Island, I have really been blessed with feeling pretty fantastic this far into my pregnancy.  I know that at this point many woman have had about enough, but so far I haven't had those feelings.  I think because of this, the idea of our little miracle actually being here soon hasn't really registered.  Don't get me wrong, I am prepared as far as the nursery being set up, bags (relatively) packed and frozen meals in the freezer, but as for her actual arrival.....Aaaaahhhh!!!  I am both anxious and remarkably terrified.  I can't believe that after all we have been through, that hubby and I will soon being holding our precious gift from God.

I feel the same way - still feeling really good, and since I stopped drinking anything after around 8 pm, I've been sleeping through the night again (thank goodness!) I'm definitely not at the stage where I'm in a hurry for her to come out.
I don't remember feeling very different after D dropped. You'll probably notice that you can breathe a little better now though since she's not squishing up your lungs as much!
Sounds like you're pretty prepared for the baby's arrival. I still haven't packed a bag!
Just a couple more weeks (or maybe less!) before you close the door on the long journey you've been on, and open the door on a whole new world!

How exciting! I'm sorry you're uncomfortable, but I guess that's to be expected. It's crazy how close you, Lucky, CeCe and I are to having our babies. It will be interesting to see who goes first! Eek! I'm getting nervous! :)
