This past Sunday my husband & I dedicated Addy at our church.  We attend a Baptist church & the members truly are our family.  They stood by us throughout our struggle to have Addy.  They cried when we cried & boy did they rejoice when we did!  I am so very grateful for my church family & it felt so nice to dedicate Addy with them all there.

My family also attended (they are local, hubby's are not) & although they do not share my faith (hubby's does), it was nice to have them there.  They got to meet so many of the people who supported us & were able to get a better idea of what it is I do every Sunday.  Sadly, I don't think any of them really listened to the message, but one can hope.

During the dedication I realized just how blessed I really am.  I only pray that we can raise Addy to see what an amazing loving Lord we serve.  Hubby & I read her baby bible & pray with her every night.  We are trying to set a good example of how we live with Christ as the center of our daily life.  He has given us so very much & I am so grateful for His love.

Here are some pics from that day.

Love the pictures :) My IL's mostly stayed at the back of the church with all the little ones for E's baptism.

    Congratulations!

I'm not familiar with a dedication. Is it the same as a Blessing/Baptism/Christening for a baby?

    Dawn,

How wonderful! Growing up, I always loved the special dates set aside for Baby Dedications. My church pastor did this several times a year and it was so special. Like you, I want to raise our child to honor God and with Christian values.

Some time ago you asked for Mommy Blogs....well, today as I was searching for how to make a blog banner I found a wonderful blog with lots of Mommy Blogs on the sidebar :) Check it out. I can't promise how current it is, but its a place to start :) Look at who she follows on the sidebar.
