We got to hear the heartbeat today!!!  It was the most amazing wonderful thing I've ever heard.  The baby (blob) is getting so big.  S/he is at 14mm long and the heart rate was 151.  We are 7 weeks 4 days today and actually measured a day ahead.  Which I know isn't that exciting but to me it is..lol!!!  I know that we are not out of the woods yet but each milestone brings us that much closer to our dream of holding this little one in our arms.  We go back next week than return 2 weeks after that at which point we will be 10 weeks and it will be our last appt before being sent back to the midwife.  Once we hit 9 weeks I'm going to rent a doppler and would love some advice on what you ladies have gotten and how they work.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have also been feeling just horrible (and loving it!!!).  I am nauseous all the time but never actually throw up.  What I do is dry heave which is just wrong!!  I am pretty exhausted which usually results in a nap at 2pm (and this even happens at my desk!).  I am worried about this as we are heading up to Buffalo for Thanksgiving to spend it with the in laws.  We are not telling our families until we reach 12 weeks (Christmas Day) so we will be keeping it from them and that is not going to be easy with my constant nausea.  I even went and bought some maternity shirts as mine are all getting kinda tight and the family is definitely curious.  It will be different to see my SIL while I'm pregnant.  She is the one who had triplets via IVF than got pregnant and we were due the same week.  She is going to be huge which will still make it hard, but knowing I have this little one who is still hanging in there and growing strong will help.  Just wish I could share the exciting news with her!!  Well ladies I have to wake up at 4:30am so its off to pack then head to bed!  Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless!

Congratulations!! That's so wonderful! Good luck over Thanksgiving. (I've been having all-day sickness too, but luckily just nausea, no dry heaves.)

I was the same way the first 20 weeks or so - a lot of dry heaves and nauseous bouts, but very little actual throwing up. And like you, I tried to appreciate the bright side of it all... at least I was pregnant!

One thing I found that helped was eating when I felt sick. Seems weird, but eating almost always eases the nausea... so I hope you enjoy Thanksgiving! :)

Congratulations Dawn! I'm so happy you could hear a great heartbeat. This is great.
Good luck at Thanksgiving! How is your family at keeping secrets? I know if I saw my SIL before my "offical" announcement, I would have spilled the beans to her. Don't feel bad if you can't keep it in!
